STRATEGY AND PLANNING

Strategy Elaboration Workshop

Workshop to support top managment in defining the vision, mission and values statements, as well as identification of key strategic goals and objectives. Support in establishing the Action Plan and an external communication brochure. Includes support in the monitoring and review process.

Strategic and Operational Planning

Support the organisation in setting up a strategic or an operational plan. It starts with sport benchmark references, capacity building and moves on to the provision of practical tools and templates. May include support in the monitoring and review process.

Programme Management

Explanation of project or programme management. Explore how to imple-ment a PMO (Project Management Office) in your organisation and start a practical reporting process.

Leadership and Executive Retreats

Workshop with Executive Committee / Board members and top executives to identify key challenges of the organisation and how to tackle them.

Possibility to include customised capacity building modules.

GOVERNANCE AND OPERATIONS

Organisational Reviews and Operational Development

Review of key documentation, organisational self-assessment and interview key positions in order to assess the operational status. The assessment will look into the statutes, key regulations, policies and procedures, financial documentation, functional structure and key bodies, functional strategies, communication profile, etc. The outcome will be a report to top management identifying key gaps and challenges as well as proposed priorities and a pragmatic action plan to improve the sports organisation operations.

Sports IT Review

Offers a comprehensive analysis of the sports organisation’s integrated IT systems framework. This includes evaluating the online visibility, its commitment to cybersecurity standards, and an overarching gap analysis. The review also delves into the engagement with OTTs and strea-ming platforms, ensuring they leverage the latest in content delivery. Post-review, a detailed report with actionable recommendations is prepared, aiming to elevate the orga-nization’s IT and digital strategies. Collaboration is further extended in shaping the technical prerequisites for tenders and posterior implementation support.

Operational Planning

Support the sports organisation to define an operational plan by establishing key goals and SMART objectives. Provision of templates and support in establishing a timely monitoring and review process.

Policies and Procedures

Review focused on the policies and procedures dimension. It might include code of conduct, match fixing, safeguarding, the financial area, procurement, human resources manual including recruitment and staff assessment. Other policies and procedures may be considered.

Competitions Management

Focuses on the financial situation and operations. The services will vary depending on the context and might include: development of customised policies and procedures, selection and implementation of an integrated ERP system, procurement processes and systems, introduction of mana-gement accounting, budgeting linked with the operational plan, budget con-trol and reporting, etc.

Financial Management

Review of the competitions format structures and elaborations of a competition plan. Support in introducing a Competition Management System and optimisation of the administration processes.

Venue Inspections

Support the sports organisation to define criteria and a process for venue inspections. Support in definition of a system and a template report for the site visits.

Design

Support in the definition of an integrated brand ecosystem. 

Layout and setting for publications as well as other marketing and communication initiatives.

Marketing and Communications

Support in the conceptualisation of corporate events, sponsor activations, definition awards and other marketing aspects. Support the definition of communication concept (corporate vs fan engagement) and definition of communication plans.

League Operations

Assessment of the top tier competition(s) and management processes to optimise the functioning of the league entity and competitions operations. Services may include the process of creation and separation of the league entity from the federation. This includes key governance aspects like the negotiation of the MoU / contract of delegating federation’s responsibilities to the league entity and initial setup process (e.g. business plan, budgeting, staffing, operational plan, etc).

Football Development

Support the federations in establishing a nationwide technical plan. Assessment of the situation and proposal of plans that will increase the player registration basis and player pathway progression for both genders and different game formats.

Referee Management

Assess the referee management operations, namely in: referee nomination criteria, evaluation process, observation and match reporting process. May include capacity building in general management topics (e.g. leadership, communication skills, etc).

Domestic Club Licensing Planning

Focus on medium term plans for club licensing as a management and professionalisation tool. Typically anticipate a four-year plan for club and league development. Support the licensor on the monitoring process.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Commercial Assets Register

Entry level service with the identification of available assets/ properties per competition.

The outcome is an assets register that may be packaged to determine a meaningful sponsorship portfolio structure.

Commercial Strategy

Support the sports organisation to establish an integrated commercial strategy. This will entail the definition of an assets register, definition of sponsor packages, a sponsorship structure. This strategy may include ticketing, merchandising, food and beverage and other revenue drivers depending on the context. It will also explore new business opportunities that might make sense in a given context.

Marketing Activations

Focus on ideas for marketing activations that will maximise the sponsors visibility and experience.

Fan Engagement

Support the sports organisation to engage fans, increase the match attendance and generate new streams of revenue. Introduction of data driven concepts as enablers of a modern fan engagement approach.

Football Social Responsibility Strategies

Support in defining a FSR strategy that establishes the organisation’s driving principles and enables a closer proximity to communities, governmental and non-governmental institutions whilst promoting football development and fan engagement. Business Intelligence

Support the organisations to establish a plan and systems to capture sports data that can be further used for commercial or fan engagement purposes.

Business Plans and Tenders

Support the organisation in developing specific business plans for investment projects or key venues – like a national technical centre. This implies a maintenance and operational plan as well as the identification of ways to explore the venue in a way that it generates revenue and ensures the overall sustainability. These services might also be used to establish technical requirements and launch tenders in a series of different areas.

SPORT EVENTS MANAGEMENT

Planning and Strategy

Support in setting up LOC organisational structure, definition of an operational masterplan that will focus on corporate aspects (e.g. finances and budget control, procurement, staffing plan, project reporting, etc.) and the event planning and delivery details. Definition of service levels for the key stakeholders.

Commercial Strategy

Support the sports organisation to establish an integrated commercial strategy. This will entail the definition of an assets register, definition of sponsor packages, a sponsorship structure. This strategy may include ticketing, merchandising, food and beverage and other revenue drivers depending on the context. It will also explore new business opportunities that might make sense in a given context.

Knowledge Management and Publications

Support the competitions organiser to establish a knowledge management programme that will ensure legacy for the forthcoming competitions. This will include the identification of different concepts, debrief process and the elaboration of key publications.

Venue Management

Support in the definition of the venue staffing structures, communication and decision-making process.

The services may also include the supervision of the setup and de-rig phases alongside all the event logistics with the provision of staff for the event delivery

Competitions

Provision and training for match directors/ general coordinators/ match commissioners.

Support in the definition of the competition administration.

Safety and Security

Support in defining a master security plan, crowd management and mobility plans, training for stewards and su-pervisors.Support the organisations to establish a plan and systems to capture sports data that can be further used for commercial or fan engagement purposes.

Ticketing and Corporate Hospitality

Support in the elaboration of ticketing and corporate hospitality concepts, identification of systems and agen-cies. May include the provision of staff for the event delivery.

TV and Media Operations

Support in the elaboration of TV & Media plans, training for staff and eventually may include the provision of staff for the event delivery.

Event Assessment

This may include technical assessment of the performance of different functional areas, research about the impact of the event in the host country, stakeholder polls, fan journey experience, sponsor visibility, etc.

Other Functional Areas

Upon request consultants may be engaged to support the delivery of additional event projects. This may also include the identification of a tournament director to coordinate the full tournament planning and delivery.

OPERATIONAL READINESS

Operational Readiness Workshops

Exercises designed for event training and organisational setting (e.g. communication crisis) scenarios in order to test standard and/or contingency situations. The exercises will use tabletop and/or simulation methodologies.

Exercises with scenarios designed to test standard and/or contingency situations in an event context or even in an organisational setting (e.g. communication crisis)

Radio Manuals

Support the event organiser in the elaboration of a manual on how to use walkie talkies in a specific event. Training sessions can be conducted as part of the simulations

Event Training Concept

Support the event organise to establish a concept for the workforce and volunteers. This may include support in establishing a train the trainers programme and an e-learning system for the workforce and volunteers.
